DETERMINATION

Yesterday was a crazy busy day involving a trip to the Birmingham NEC for a craft show, so delayed my blog somewhat, namely because the writer nodded off as soon as she got in!
Most weeks I feel like I am fighting against myself with all that I give myself to do on a weekly basis, perhaps I am my own worst enemy constantly adding to my list and then furrowing my brow wondering how on earth I am going to accomplish it all (usually as I write yet another thing on it).
This week has been different however, even with the massive list, I have found myself focusing on some key targets I have set for my writing and actively setting out to accomplish them. I am doing more editing (even though I detest it and nod off on a regular basis) I am determined. Perhaps this is the change I spoke about in a previous blog?
That thing that has changed within me is my determination to focus more on my writing than I ever have in the past. I am thinking and feeling more like a writer because of it. I now try and edit my book at least once if not twice a week (or more if I can spare the time) and even if I can only edit a couple of pages before I nod off (not because I bore myself-well at least I hope not, but because of that annoying sleep apnoea thing), I know that the end goal is to get it published, a wish that has been deep within my heart since that first draft over 20 years ago and these little steps are edging me ever closer to achieving it.
So there are a number of goals on my writing list, perhaps I should keep it separate from the everyday crazy one, it wont seem so long and this new determination will help me keep it a short one.
Watch this space because by the end of 2017 there will be a number of things ticked off it and I am determined to make it so.
