Decisions, decisions

So I am still wrestling with that bad guy of mine, perhaps I should just leave him lurking in the shadows, maybe he is supposed to be an enigma, pulling the strings anonymously from the darkness a mystery to the author as well as the reader. So that is where I will leave him for now, hiding.
Anyway I have purchased a certain magazine for us writers this week and have got the usual dilemma, too many competitions to enter and soo little time! Does any one else feel overwhelmed by the number of places you could send some of your work to, if only you had a) something suitable and b) the money for the entry fee!
I remember when I first started looking at my writing more seriously, I painstakingly copied out all the deadlines for various competitions into my diary ready to do battle with pen and paper, only to find that by the time I had finished updating my diary, half the ones I had ideas for had been and gone and the rest I couldn’t think of anything to say!
So I have a new dilemma which ones do I enter, what am I going to write? and when am I going to write it?!
